Il Rotary Club Brescia Nord è stato fondato nel 1971 dai Rotariani Ing. Riccardo Amisano, Avv. Arnaldo Avanzini, e rag. Pietro Cimaschi, con 32 Soci Fondatori. Negli anni il Club ha vantato un considerevole e costante apporto di nuovi Soci, che lo porta oggi a un organico di 84 Soci Ordinari e 4 Soci Onorari.
Il Club è profondamente radicato nel territorio della città di Brescia, da cui trae stimoli e suggestioni per le sue attività di Service locale. Ugualmente, il Club vanta competenze di spicco in ambito nazionale e internazionale che, da solo o in armonia con il Distretto, stimolano le attività di Service internazionale.
Il Club tiene le sue riunioni conviviali ogni giovedì nella prestigiosa sede di Palazzo Averoldi, in Via Moretto 12 a Brescia, che esso stesso, insieme al Rotary Club Brescia, ha contribuito a restaurare in parte nel 1980. Nella stessa sede gravitano, oltre al citato Rotary Club Brescia, anche i Rotary Club Brescia Ovest e Brescia Castello.
Il Club è attualmente gemellato con il Rotary Club francese di Houilles Bezons Sartrouville, con cui ha effettuato ed effettua scambi e visite periodiche. Conta di proporre gemellaggi anche ad altri Club Europei o Extraeuropei, nell'intento di promuovere le relazioni internazionali nello spirito di amicizia rotariana.
E' padrino del Rotaract Brescia, con cui cura, attraverso la delegata Giovani, i contatti e che invita costantemente alle sue conviviali, nella convinzione che i giovani del Rotaract possano trarre fonti di esperienza nella frequentazione del Club, e nella speranza di poter annoverare ex-Rotaractiani tra i futuri nuovi soci del Club.
Tra le iniziative più significative si possono annoverare il contributo all'arredamento di un asilo ricostruito dopo il Terremoto del Friuli, la partecipazione al programma in atto nel Sahara per l'operazione "Eau vive" in collaborazione con il Club Contatto francese Houilles, Bezons, Sartrouville e con i Club di Cergy (F), Paris-la Defense (F), Nidda (D), Bruxelles Ouest (B), Crew and Nancy Weaver (GB), il significativo contributo alla Croce Rossa, e la partecipazione attiva al Programma Polio Plus.

Historical information and liaisons with the territory

The Rotary Club Brescia Nord was established in 1971 by Rotarians Riccardo Amisano, Arnaldo Avanzini and Pietro Cimaschi, together with 32 Founding members. In the following years, the Club has been progressively and constantly expanding, with new members of excellence, up to the present days, when the Club numbers 84 Ordinary members and 4 Honorary members.
The Club is very homogeneously inserted in the context of the territory of the city of Brescia, and this stimulates and gives suggestions for the mess of local services in the past and in the present. Equally, the Club has several outstanding members in the international context, and this helps it in adressing the national and international services, alone or in combination with other clubs of the 2050 District.
Club meetings take place every thursday in the prestigeous "Palazzo Averoldi" (via Moretto 12, Brescia), a palace dated end of the 16th century. In 1980 the Club, together with the companion Club Brescia, has actively contributed to the restoration of the magnificent and suggestive "Chinese Room" of the palace. Together with the above mentioned Club Brescia, two other Clubs, namely Brewcia Ovest and Brescia Castello, have their meetings in what is called the "Rotary House".
The Club has a partnership with the french Club Houilles Bezons Sartrouville (banlieue of Paris) whith which it shared and still shares visits and activities. At the same time, the Club is continuously searching for new partnerships, in Europe and outside, in order to promote and foster international relations in the spirit od Rotarian friensdship. One of the Club members is a District constant reference as a Team Leader in GSE's.
The Club is sponsor of the Rotaract Brescia. The Club's delegate for the Young generation keeps continuous contacts with the Rotaract Members who are regularly invited to the Club meetings. Hopefully these young members of Rotaract will profit from sharing their experience with Club Members, and hopefully former Rotaract members will find the determination to continue their Rotarian life as new Club members.
Among the initiatives of the Club throughout the years there are (i) the purchase of the complete furniture for a Kindergarden in Friuli completely destroyed by the 1976 earthquake; (ii) the participation to the "Eau Vive" ("living water") operation in Sahara together with the French partner Club Houilles, Bezons, Sartrouville and with Clubs Cergy (F), Paris-la Defense (F), Nidda (D), Bruxelles Ouest (B), Crew and Nancy Weaver (GB); (iii) the significant contribution to the Red Cross; and (iv) the active participation to the PolioPlus Programme.
